Bulk item Collection
One large bulk item may be put out each week with your trash. Furniture and rugs must be cut in 3 foot sections and tied up. Mattresses and box springs may also be put out with your trash; however, only one of these items is permitted to be put out each week and they must be encased in a plastic industrial bag.

E-Waste Collection Events
Electrical and electronic devices, such as TVs, computers, monitors, clocks, radios, small tools, electronics with a cord, etc. may be dropped off to Public Works on March 30, 2019 and September 28, 2019 from 9:00am-1:00pm. Please drop your items off to the truck located outside the gate.

Leaf Season
The leaf collection season will begin on October 14, 2019 and continue through December 20, 2019. The leaf machine will follow the same route as the street sweeper. We ask that residents rake their leaves to the curb end and from there the Public Works Department will rake the leaves into the leaf machine. Please be aware that twigs, branches, and trash cannot be mixed in with leaves or we will not pick up the pile(s), because the county inspectors will turn us away from the dump site if we bring these items mixed in with the leaves.

Street Sweeper
The Borough’s street sweeper is out all year round, there are signs posted on every street that show the day and time it will be on your block, please look for these signs. Please be reminded that if you are parked in an area during the designated sweeping time, you are subject to being ticketed. We are out daily cleaning the streets with the street sweeper and cleaning out the grates and inlets throughout the Borough. Both are essential in keeping the streets and storm sewer system clean. Last year, over 213 tons of dirt and debris were picked up because these services were performed. The Borough also collected 48 tons of leaves throughout the Borough in 12 weeks the leaf machine was out.

Trash & Recycling
Trash will be picked up twice per week beginning Monday, July 1, 2019 through Friday, August 30, 2019.
Recycling will be picked up every Wednesday

Please Note: Recycling will not be picked up on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 and on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, the next pick up date will be on Wednesday January 8, 2020

White Good Items
Call (610) 623-3636 to arrange the pickup of white goods items, such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, and hot water heaters. There is a $10.00 fee for picking up items containing Freon, such as refrigerators, air conditioners etc., which must be paid in advance to the administration office located at the third floor of Borough Hall prior to pick up.

Yard Waste Drop Off
Beginning March 8, 2019 through October 11, 2019, every second Friday of the month, residents will be able to bring yard waste to the Public Works Garage for disposal. Yard waste is defined as the following: twigs, sticks, shrubbery, tree trimmings, branches (the tree branches cannot be wider than 4 inches in diameter, and the bundles cannot be longer than 3 feet in length), and similar vegetative material. Grass clippings are not permitted. The leaves will be accepted, but must be separated from all of the other materials. The drop off hours will be from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. All contractors, landscapers, and tree companies are prohibited from participating. Everyone who comes in must stop at the office first. You will then be shown where to drop off your waste. You will be turned away, if what you have is not in compliance with Act 101.

Yard Waste Residential Pick Up Schedule
On Wednesday April 10th and Wednesday April 17th, the Borough will pick up yard waste from the residents. Please see the map above which shows whether your pick up will be on April 10th (the right side of Church Lane) or 17th (the left side of Church Lane). Another way to determine your pick up date is by your trash pickup day. Those who have a trash pickup of Monday and Friday will have their yard waste picked up on April 10th, and those who have a trash pickup of Tuesday and Thursday will have their yard waste picked up on April 17th. Please refer to the Yard Waste Drop Off section above for details on what will be picked up and how it should be bundled. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department.

Illegal Discharges
This spring many of you will be out cutting grass and cleaning up your properties, we would like you to remember the following: by law, nothing but rain water and melted snow can go into a storm drain. Leaves, grass, bottles, cans, soap, paint, oil, deicing salt, and trash are all examples of illegal discharges into storm drains. Pollutants that enter our storm drain system are not treated and go directly into our local waterways resulting in degraded water quality. We ask everyone to be mindful and do their part in keeping our streets and waterways clean.
