Moving Yeadon Forward

By LaToya Monroe

As I sit on my porch in reflection and welcome the warmer weather, I am overwhelmed by how much I love Yeadon! I am thankful to be part of such a wonderful community of individuals who are so passionate about betterment of our quality of life and the preservation of our small-town feel. Serving Yeadon as the Council President is a tremendous honor, and I am humbled to have been elected to do so.

In January, when I was sworn in as Council President, I promised to work diligently to Move Yeadon Forward. Working with our honorable Mayor Rohan K. Hepkins, my colleagues on Council, our dedicated team of Yeadon staff members, and our neighbors, we have meticulously begun the process of analyzing our strengths and opportunities and are indeed Moving Yeadon Forward.

We are making unprecedented investments in our aging infrastructure, have revamped the manner in which you can access and communicate with your local government, and are establishing partnerships with our county and state elected officials that will allow Yeadon access to financial resources previously unattained. We have restored Committee Meetings and restructured the chairmanships to include a resident voice on each committee. We recognize that we are here to serve you, and appreciate the trust you have placed in your elected officials. We will continue working collaboratively to ensure that Yeadon remains the safe, clean community that we all want to live, work, and play in, while honoring our past and embracing our future.

We are just getting started! Please, contact us if we can be helpful to you or if you have any ideas of how we can continue Moving Yeadon Forward! Come out to our Committee, Caucus and Legislative meetings so your voice for your community can be heard.
