Winter Emergency Notice: Snow Emergency Routes

In the event of a winter emergency, if an emergency is declared, a declaration will be issued regarding snow emergency routes as follows:

Emergency Declaration

No parking will be permitted on Snow Emergency Routes during a declared emergency. All cars violating the ordinance, No. 470.02, may be ticketed and towed at owner’s expense. A list of Snow Emergency Routes can be found in Ordinance No. 470.03. If you are unsure, contact the Yeadon Borough Police Depart of Public Works.

We ask all Yeadon Borough Residents living along the snow emergency routes to use the municipal parking lots located on Church Lane and Myra Avenue; Church Lane and Guenther Avenue and on the old Yeadon Theatre Lot on Holly Road, behind the Valero Gas Station. Parking is free during the emergency.

If your power goes out, call PECO at (800) 494-4000 to report it. The amount of reported outages may determine the type of equipment needed to restore power as soon as possible.

In the event of a major power outage, Borough Council and Management, may authorize an emergency shelter be opened at the Borough Hall in the 2nd floor auditorium. In the event this occurs, notification will be disseminated on the Borough website and social media.

Please also notify the Office of Emergency Management at (610) 623-239, in the event of a power outage as well. Rufus Stokes, Emergency Management Coordinator, may be reached at (484) 645-5503. Mary Nixon, Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator, may be reached at (484) 843-6872.

Call the Police at (911), to report fallen wires and downed trees. The Public Works Department may be reached at (610) 623-3636, to address fallen trees as well.
